The indictments were served by the Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar when the case was heard today. The nine Army Intelligence Officers including the Commanding Officer of the Giritale Army Camp Lieutenant Colonel Shammi Kumararatne were served the indictments. They have been accused of abducting the cartoonist with the intention of secretly and unlawfully detaining him, and his assassination. The suspects were later released on bail. The case is to be heard again on 18 December.
